Merano Christmas Market / Merano AdventWhen the temperature plunges, the first snows reach the summits of the surrounding alpine peaks and the tempting scent of delicious hot drinks and fresh pastries finds its way into your nose, then it's Advent time in beautiful Merano. From the end of November to the beginning of January, visitors can experience genuine Christmas magic in the romantic atmosphere: traditional handicrafts and wonderful culinary specialities, peaceful moments of cosy togetherness or a sociable hour or two with friends and family – the ingredients of the famous and extremely popular Merano Advent. The theme of this year's Merano Christmas Market is “Enjoyment and Recreation”. Here is the up-to-date programme. Merano Christmas Market opening hours 2011 / 2012:The 19th Merano Christmas Market / Merano Advent will be open from 25th November 2011 till 7th January 2012. The opening ceremony takes place on 24th November 2011 at 5 pm. Monday till Friday from 10.30 am till 7.30 pm; Saturday till Sunday, as well as on 8th and 9th December 2011 from 9 am till 7.30 pm. On 24th and 31st December 2011 from 10 am till 4 pm The “Merano Advent” remains closed on 25th December On 26th December from 10 am till 7.30 pm On 1st January 2012 from 12 am till 7.30 pm On 6th January from 10 am till 7.30 pm On 7th January from 10 am till 6 pm The opening times for the gastronomies at the Meran / Merano Christmas Market: Monday till Friday from 10.30 am till 9.30 pm; Saturday and Sunday, as well as on 8th and 9th December 2011 from 9 am till 9.30 pm.
